
Chris B. Tillotson
CHIEF PROJECTS OFFICER
Chris is an energy project development executive with 25+ years of cross-functional leadership experience primarily focused on project development, project management and business strategy. He exhibits strong clean energy industry knowledge in the areas of clean hydrogen production, infrastructure development, power generation, thermal energy storage, natural gas processing, CO₂ capture, utilization and sequestration and hydrocarbon storage. In his current leadership capacities, Chris leads cross-functional teams responsible for designing and developing clean hydrogen production projects.
Prior to joining Bakken Energy, Chris led the software engineering, information technology, and R&D teams at Ice Energy. Chris revitalized the product development team and established Ice Energy’s new R&D facility in Riverside, CA. During his tenure at Ice Energy Chris successfully led City of Riverside Ice Bear program business development efforts and authored and secured a Custom Energy Technology grant through the City of Riverside to develop solar energy and thermal storage integration and optimization capabilities.
Prior to joining Ice Energy Chris co-invented, designed and developed the e:VAL electronic parking validation solution. The internet-based e:VAL parking validation solution eliminated inefficiencies and theft and rapidly became the new standard for parking validation. In 2014 the business was sold to SKIDATA AG, the world’s leading parking access and revenue control company.
Chris’s expertise is ensuring early-stage ventures succeed by leveraging his over 25 years of leadership, technical project management, business development, information technology skills. He is committed to building highly functional teams and mentoring younger professionals.
Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences with High Honors, and Master of Arts in Applied Math, both from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
